The Travel Gateway is very pleased to be officially become an associate member of the prestigious Passenger Shipping Association (PSA). The PSA is the official body representing Ferry and Cruise companies operating in the UK.
The PSA trade association was originally set up in 1958 as an organisation of passenger ship owners, under the name Ocean Travel Development (OTD). In 1976, OTD changed its name to Passenger Shipping Association as it better described the purposes of the association.
The PSA is now widely recognised as the official body that represents all passenger shipping interests within the UK.
The Travel Gateway Ltd is very happy to be associated with the PSA particularly because both organisations share many of the same objectives. This includes one of our main aims which is to promote Travel by Sea to the UK and European public, and to constantly look at how we can expand the market for many years to come.
Kirsty Laifa, spokesman for The Travel Gateway Ltd, comments, "We look forward to being an active member of the PSA. We expect to bring our skills and knowledge in technology and marketing, as well as our vast distribution of over 75 ferry operators to the table. It provides great networking opportunities and a think-tank for ferry industry leaders to discuss future strategies and opportunities. It is right and good news that The Travel Gateway now becomes part of this organisation."
